What is this project about?
It is a space for well–being and reconnection, surrounded by nature, where warmth, silence, and sharing create a unique experience on the shores of the “Lac de la Corne” (sauna, relaxation yurt, changing room, refreshment bar).
What are the goals?
After a first season rich in encounters, a building permit was required to reopen this year, involving significant and costly adaptations (~20,000 CHF).
The goal is to bring the facilities up to standard to offer an even more comfortable and sustainable experience, open six months a year (15 september – 15 march).
Why should your project in particular be sponsored?
Because it is a unique place in Valais: a bubble of warmth and nature where time stands still. Supporting Saunalps means encouraging a human, local, and sustainable project that offers everyone the opportunity to reconnect with themselves and the beauty of the present moment.
How can we support the project?
You can support the project in several ways:

What happens to the money once the funding has been raised?
The money will be used to improve the project experience and compliance:
- Purchase of a new yurt and flooring (approx. 7,000 CHF)
- Upgrading doors and materials to meet standards (approx. 6,000 CHF)
- Installing a heating system (approx. 3,000 CHF)
- Replacing the sauna window (approx. 3,000 CHF)
- Installation of dry toilets (approx. 1,500 CHF)
Minimum amount
Reaching the minimum threshold of 3,500 CHF would allow Saunalps to remain in operation for the next season, covering the technical and material priorities essential to bringing it up to standard.
This amount would mainly be used to replace the sauna’s panoramic window and allow for some exterior improvements (platform, lighting, etc.), but would not guarantee the possibility of installing a rest yurt.
This would ensure the continuity of the project, preserve this relaxation area on the shores of Lake La Corne, and continue to offer the community a place of well–being and reconnection with nature, even in a simplified version.
Desired amount
Reaching 20’500 CHF would enable Saunalps to fully realize its vision: to offer a wellness experience in the heart of nature that is comfortable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly.
This amount would cover the purchase of a new, more spacious and insulated yurt, the installation of wood heating (or a heat pump) to welcome the public in gentle warmth, the upgrading of materials and doors to meet new regulations, the installation of dry toilets, improved outdoor facilities, and the replacement of the sauna’s panoramic window.
Thanks to this comprehensive funding, Saunalps will be able to operate year-round, offer more activities, and guarantee a quality experience for all those seeking to recharge their batteries in the heart of Valais.
Who is the initiator of the project?
My name is Matthieu Bayard. Saunalps was born from my passion for the mountains, nature, and simple, authentic forms of well-being. Through this project, I want to create spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and feel grounded in the alpine environment. My motivation is to offer an accessible and meaningful wellness experience, deeply connected to the seasons, respectful of nature, and rooted in the local landscape. For me, the sauna is more than just heat, it is a moment of presence, sharing, and genuine reconnection.
